According to WitsView, the research division of TrendForce, and Chinese research institute Σintell, the total shipments of LCD TV brands in Mar-12 showed higher-than-expected MoM and YoY increase of 29% and 52% respectively, amounting to 3.331 million units.
According to Taiwan LCD TV SI Shipment Report by WitsView, TrendForce’s panel research division, a downtrend was seen in both Taiwan and worldwide LCD TV SI shipments. The former amounted to 7.63 million units with QoQ regression of 28% in 1Q12, while the latter declined by 24.5% QoQ.
Coupled with new product quality problems and cutting-edge technology adopted in production lines that brought about capacity loss, 1Q12 LCD panel shipments of main applications categories were restrained by fewer working days and labor shortage due to Chinese Lunar New Year holidays.
According to the Worldwide LCD Monitor Shipments Report from WitsView, the research division of TrendForce, both global top 10 LCD monitor brands and SIs’ shipments enjoyed a continuous growth in Mar-12.
Coupled with TV brand vendors’ preparation for ordering 2012’s new models, top 4 panel makers’ LCD TV shipments in Mar-12 jumped as inventory stocking started to surge in preparation for May 1st Labor Day. Among which CMI enjoys the most powerful shipment growth momentum.
