[Insights] Early June Panel Prices: TV Demand Weakens; MNT Price Gains Lose Momentum, NB Stays Flat
.TV
Entering June, TV panel demand is beginning to show signs of easing as inventory build-up for 618 shopping festival and FIFA World Cup-related promotions gradually winds down, while preparations for year-end promotional campaigns have yet to begin. Panel makers have also started to feel softer demand conditions and are adjusting production schedules and shipment plans accordingly. Most are placing greater emphasis on the production and shipment of larger-size panels to help maintain supply-demand balance. Against this backdrop, TV panel prices are expected to remain flat across all sizes in June.
.MNT
As June begins, monitor (MNT) panel demand is showing signs of softening as the momentum from advance inventory build-up gradually fades. With TV panel prices having shifted to a flat trend, panel makers still hope to sustain monitor panel price increases. However, maintaining the pace of gains seen in recent months is becoming increasingly difficult, and broad-based increases across all sizes are becoming less likely.
For June, prices for 23.8-inch FHD monitor panels are expected to rise by US$0.2, while 27-inch FHD panels are projected to increase by US$0.1. Prices for all other sizes and specifications are expected to remain flat.
.NB
As June begins, notebook (NB) panel demand remains stable, supported by a modest pickup in demand from brand customers as CPU shipments arrive. Even so, panel makers must balance maintaining relationships with brand customers while sustaining shipment momentum amid concerns over potential demand weakness in the second half of the year. As a result, they are continuing to adopt a relatively stable pricing strategy. Accordingly, notebook panel prices are expected to remain flat across all sizes in June.
