[News] Huawei’s Chip Fundamental Technology Research Lab Featured on CCTV News Broadcast
Recently, Huawei’s Chip Fundamental Technology Research Laboratory made its public debut on China Central Television’s flagship news program Xinwen Lianbo, drawing widespread attention from the semiconductor industry.
During the May 8 broadcast of Xinwen Lianbo, Ding Xuexiang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, was shown visiting Huawei’s Lianqiu Lake R&D Center in Shanghai. During the tour, Ding held in-depth discussions with Ren Zhengfei inside the “Chip Fundamental Technology Research Laboratory.”
Huawei’s Lianqiu Lake R&D Center was completed and officially named in July 2024. With total investment exceeding CNY 10 billion, the campus spans approximately 2,400 acres and has a gross floor area of around 2.06 million square meters, making it Huawei’s largest R&D center globally. The facility primarily focuses on research and development in areas including terminal chips, wireless networks, and the Internet of Things (IoT).
