According to TrendForce’s latest memory spot price trend report, regarding DRAM, spot prices have eased slightly after earlier hikes, especially for DDR4 products, which had seen sharp increases. As for NAND flash, buying sentiment remains weak in the spot market, with prices for once-popular MLC eMMC also slipping. Details are as follows:
DRAM Spot Price:
Spot prices have weakened a bit recently as they are now fairly high after hikes. This is especially the case for DDR4 products, which previously saw large increases. In general, some types of chips are still in short supply, but this quarter’s price hikes are concentrated mainly in the contract market. The potential for further price increases in the spot market is limited. The average spot price of mainstream chips (i.e., DDR4 1Gx8 3200MT/s) has increased by 1.07% from US$4.970 last week to US$5.023 this week.
NAND Flash Spot Price:
Purchase sentiment on NAND Flash remains sluggish within the spot market, where MLC eMMC that was previously favored by the market for a prolonged period has also experienced fallback of prices, mostly attributed to lethargic consumer demand, together with differentiated anticipation of market participants towards price differences, which only further inhibited the willingness of transactions. Spot prices of 512Gb TLC wafers dropped by 0.11% this week, arriving at US$2.673.
