According to MoneyDJ, citing Nikkei, strong demand for AI servers and semiconductors, along with tariff concerns, has prompted customers to pull in shipments early, driving continued revenue growth for Taiwan’s major IT firms in April 2025.
As noted by the report, the monthly revenue of 19 Taiwan-based IT companies included in the “Asia300” index, such as TSMC and Foxconn, has exceeded NT$1 trillion for 14 consecutive months.
The report adds that their combined revenue reached NT$1.6058 trillion in April, marking the fourth-highest monthly total since records began in January 2013. Compared to the same month last year, revenue rose 26.8 percent.
AI Server Boom Lifts EMS Revenues, Foxconn Hits Record High
Among EMS (electronics manufacturing services) providers, AI server giant Foxconn saw its April revenue surge by 25.5%, while Quanta posted an even larger jump of 58.2%. Pegatron, which has a lower proportion of server production, recorded a modest 14.7% increase. Compal, which focuses mainly on notebook manufacturing, saw its April revenue plunge 19.4%, as the report highlights.
On the 14th, Foxconn reported that its revenue reached a record high for the first quarter of 2025 at NT$1.6443 trillion, with net profit rising 91% year-on-year to NT$42.1 billion. According to its press release, Chairman Young Liu states that AI server revenue grew by more than 50% compared to the same period last year.
Foundry Sector Rises as TSMC Breaks Monthly Revenue Record
MoneyDJ states that demand for advanced AI chips from NVIDIA remained strong in the foundry sector. TSMC’s April revenue surged 48.1% year-over-year, while UMC rose 3.6% and MediaTek grew 16%.
As noted in its press release, TSMC announced that consolidated revenue for April 2025 reached approximately NTD 349.57 billion (about USD 11.6 billion), representing a 22.2% increase from March 2025. Its April revenue surpassed the previous record high of NTD 314.24 billion set in October 2024, marking a new all-time high, as highlighted by Central News Agency.
