[Insights] Memory Spot Price Update: DDR4 Slide Slows as Korean Memory Makers Trigger Major Price Hikes

2025-07-23 Semiconductors editor

According to TrendForce’s latest memory spot price trend report, regarding DDR4, due to the two major Korean suppliers implementing significant monthly price hikes for consumer DRAM chips, the previous downward trend in prices has eased. As for NAND flash, high-capacity products are confined by the expected price differentiation between buyers and suppliers, and ended up being scarce in actual transactions. Details are as follows:

DRAM Spot Price:

Regarding spot prices of DDR4 products, due to the two major Korean suppliers implementing significant monthly price hikes for consumer DRAM chips, the previous downward trend in prices has eased. Currently, the DDR4 segment shows that spot prices have stopped falling, and there is a noticeable increase in transaction volumes. Turning to DDR5 products, as the upswing of contract prices moderates, the upward momentum of spot prices has also dissipated recently. The latest comparison of DDR4 and DDR5 spot prices indicates that DDR4 products have steadier momentum. The average spot price of mainstream chips (i.e., DDR4 1Gx8 3200MT/s) has increased by 2.58% from US$5.085 last week to US$5.216 this week.

NAND Flash Spot Price:

The wafer market saw restricted fluctuations of prices this week, where demand for spots had maintained flat. High-capacity products, despite sporadic inquiries, are confined by the expected price differentiation between buyers and suppliers, and ended up being scarce in actual transactions. The eMMC market carried on with its sluggishness, where 4GB and 8GB products enduring pressure continuously. Without a recovery in demand, the supply end continues to focus on ridding its inventory, which led to loosened quotations and expanded room for negotiations, though overall transactions are still relatively lethargic due to buyers’ conservativeness. Spot prices of 512Gb TLC wafers risen by 1.01% this week, arriving at US$2.700.
