According to TrendForce’s latest memory spot price trend report, regarding DRAM, DDR4 and DDR5 chips have generally reached price parity in the spot market at the beginning of June. Some DDR4 chips are even priced higher than DDR5 chips. As for NAND flash, spot prices were still seen with a slow reduction this week. Details are as follows:
DRAM Spot Price:
Now, at the beginning of June, DDR4 and DDR5 chips have generally reached price parity in the spot market. Some DDR4 chips are even priced higher than DDR5 chips. Although supply remains tight for DDR4 chips and sellers are unable to fully meet buyers’ needs, the price upswing is expected to moderate in the future because the recent hikes have been excessive. Some speculative buyers are also expected to scale back procurement quantities due to high prices. The average spot price of mainstream chips (i.e., DDR4 1Gx8 3200MT/s) has risen by 11.8% from US$2.963 last week to US$3.314 this week.
NAND Flash Spot Price:
Demand for end products currently remains stable, though the spot market is still somewhat sluggish in transactions, which led to the correction of prices. However, promotions for the recent 618 shopping festival have somewhat ascended the extent of transactions. That being said, spot prices were still seen with a slow reduction this week. Spot prices of 512Gb TLC wafers dropped by 0.22% this week, arriving at US$2.707.
