While Samsung has yet to release its final earnings on January 29, SK hynix today reported record-breaking results for 2025: revenue of 97.15 trillion won, operating profit of 47.21 trillion won (49% margin), and net profit of 42.95 trillion won (44% margin). As ZDNet highlights, the company’s operating profit surpasses Samsung Electronics’ provisional 2025 figure of 43.53 trillion won, making it the highest among domestic listed companies.

SK hynix notes that the results also crushed the company’s 2024 records, with annual revenue up more than 30 trillion won and operating profit nearly doubling year-on-year. Growth momentum accelerated further in Q4 2025, as demand for HBM and conventional server memory surged.

SK hynix also posted record quarterly results in the quarter: revenue rose 34% to 32.83 trillion won, operating profit jumped 68% to 19.17 trillion won, and operating margin hit 58% quarter-on-quarter.

Notably, SK hynix emphasized HBM3E and HBM4 as key growth drivers, claiming it is “the only company in the industry able to supply both reliably at the same time,” according to ZDNet. The company reportedly added that HBM4 is already in mass production to meet customer demand—a statement seen as underscoring its competitive edge against rivals Samsung and Micron, ZDNet points out.

Building on this momentum, The Elec reveals that SK hynix has decided to increase its 1c DRAM output plan and is in discussions with multiple equipment partners to respond to growing mainstream DRAM demand. While exact figures are yet to be confirmed, industry sources cited by the report estimate its target monthly output for 1c DRAMs by the end of Q1 2027 at 170,000–200,000 units—nearly double the 90,000 units originally planned.

The company had already raised its targets to 122,000 units in August and 150,000 units in October, 2025, The Elec reports.

Meanwhile, SK hynix announced its plans to establish a U.S.-based AI solutions firm, tentatively named AI Company (AI Co.), in the U.S. Leveraging its advanced chip technologies, including HBM, SK hynix intends for AI Co. to deliver optimized AI systems for data center customers. The company said it will commit USD 10 billion to AI Co., to be deployed on a capital-call basis.
