According to Wccftech, Intel has launched a dedicated web page showcasing its “USAI” campaign, aimed at reshaping market perception by emphasizing the company’s close ties to the administration and its commitment to U.S. manufacturing and technology.
On the page, Intel states that it has been the only U.S.-based company committed to advanced manufacturing on American soil for five decades, producing the world’s most cutting-edge chips. It also outlines its role as a trusted partner in securely implementing AI for the public sector and government, and its commitment to advancing America’s leadership in semiconductors.
Wccftech notes that while Intel has revealed few details about the campaign, it likely aims to underscore the company’s commitment not only to the U.S. government but also to military partnerships. Notably, on the page, Intel highlights its partnership with EdgeRunner AI, emphasizing collaborations to bring local language models to the troops.
Intel has found itself in a complex situation, largely due to CEO Lip-Bu Tan’s alleged connections with Chinese companies. According to Reuters, U.S. President Donald Trump said he met with Tan on Monday, just days after calling for his resignation, describing Tan’s success and rise as “an amazing story.” Trump also urged Tan and other Intel executives to return next week with their proposals.
Reuters reported in April that Tan, a veteran investor and chairman of Walden International, has long-standing ties to China, having invested over $200 million in Chinese chip and manufacturing firms from 2012 to 2024. He notably backed SMIC in 2001, served on its board until 2018, and exited his stake in 2021, according to the report.
