[News] Germany DDR5 Prices Rise in April, Reportedly Led by 48GB Modules with Strongest Gains
DDR5 price correction in China’s retail market raised concerns over a potential cooling in DRAM demand. However, citing German media outlet 3D Center via Wccftech, the trend appears less likely to persist, as DDR5 kits in Germany recorded a modest price increase in April following a brief decline in March, with 48GB DDR5-6000 modules posting the strongest price gains.
As highlighted by Wccftech, in Germany, March saw the first recorded decline since July 2025, but that correction quickly reversed, with prices rebounding in April. This suggests the earlier drop was only temporary, with DDR5 pricing now re-adjusting upward and near-term further declines appearing unlikely, the report adds.
The average DDR5 RAM kit price in Germany remains roughly 4.1× higher than July 2025 levels, though still below the peak seen in January–February, as per Wccftech.
3D Center adds that in aggregate, DDR5 price increases and decreases largely offset each other, resulting in a marginal average rise of +0.3% across 20 evaluated DDR5 products. Notably, declines were more common among smaller and mid-capacity kits, while price increases tended to concentrate in higher-capacity configurations, 3D Center suggests.
According to data compiled by 3D Center, DDR5 pricing trends in Germany showed clear divergence across capacities between March and April: 2×48GB DDR5-6400 modules led gains with a +16% increase, while 2×32GB DDR5-7200 kits also posted a solid +10% rise over the same period. In contrast, 2×16GB DDR5-7200 bucked the trend, recording the steepest decline at -13%.
U.S. DDR5 Prices Regain Upward Momentum Amid Tight Supply
On the other hand, while DDR5 pricing had begun to soften across major U.S. retail channels in March, Tom’s Hardware notes that Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5-6000 32GB kits have recently hovered around the best U.S. price of roughly $439.
In comparison, as previously reported by Wccftech, Corsair’s VENGEANCE 32GB DDR5 kit had dipped to around $379.99 in late March—more than 20% below its recent peak of $490.
Overall, Tom’s Hardware notes that DDR5 prices have still surged sharply over the past quarter, with increases reaching 3–4x in some cases. According to Tom’s Hardware, amid tight DRAM supply, retailers are also pushing prices higher, echoing the graphics card shortage cycle from a few years ago. Some have reportedly begun bundling DDR5 kits with CPUs or motherboards to maximize sales.
Samsung DDR4 Phase-Out Adds New Supply Pressure Signal
It is worth noting that Samsung’s move to stop taking new orders for select low-power mobile DRAM products, including LPDDR4 and LPDDR4X, could become an additional factor shaping future DDR5 pricing. The Elec reports that the company has completed its final order round and will now only fulfill existing commitments, after which both products will enter end-of-life (EOL) status.
According to the report, production is expected to continue through 2026 based on last-order timing, with some manufacturing lines potentially being repurposed as early as Q1 2026. The Elec also notes that Samsung will fully transition to LPDDR5 once LPDDR4X inventories are depleted, requiring even secured customers to adjust long-term platform plans.
Against this backdrop, the extent to which this shift may tighten overall DRAM supply and indirectly support DDR5 pricing remains to be seen.
