Taipei, October 22, 2008 --- DRAM DDR2 1Gb 667MHz spot price fell nearly 50% from a high of US$2.29 on May 6’th to US$1.13 on Oct. 17’th. On Sep.30th, price fell 7% in a single day from US$1.37 to US$1.28. DRAM spot price fell below US$1.5, the average cash cost of most DRAM makers back in Sep. 6’th.

Large-sized panel shipments fall by 4.9% to 105.3 million in 3Q08, reports WitsView

Taipei, October 22, 2008---Global aggregated large-sized panel shipments in 3Q08 reached 105.3 million units, a QoQ decrease of 4.9% and a mere 3.4% YoY growth. Thanks to preparations for China’s National Day holidays and year-end sales promotions, TV panel shipments were up monthly during the third quarter. For 3Q08, they reached a new record high of 26.7 million units, up 12.7% QoQ.

Worsening global economic problems pushes down panel prices, says WitsView

Taipei, October 21, 2008---According to WitsView's 2HOct price survey, in monitor segment, which is already relatively saturated (more than 90% market penetration rate), panel prices dropped by 5-6 per cent ($5). Supported by the PC desktop replacement effect, NB panels slipped by a smaller 2-4 per cent ($2-3).

Taipei, October 6, 2008---According to WitsView’s 1HOct panel price survey, IT panels remained stable as TV panels continued to fall by 2~3 per cent ($5-10). With Taiwan’s panel makers substantially reducing their utilization rates, the market’s panel inventory continues to be digested.
