[News] Apple Reportedly Preps M5 MacBook Pro, Updated Vision Pro for Year-End or Early 2026 Launch

According to Wccftech, citing MacRumors, Federal Communications Commission (FCC) documents have revealed that new Apple hardware may be underway, including what appear to be upcoming M5 MacBook Pro models and iPad Pro devices.

As the report notes, the filings list a device with the model number A3434, which does not match any MacBook Pro currently on the market, suggesting that Apple may be preparing to launch its next-generation notebook in the coming months. The same set of documents also includes model codes reportedly linked to the M5 iPad Pro, further indicating that Apple’s hardware pipeline may be moving forward.

The report adds that Apple devices usually appear in regulatory filings once development is complete and production is imminent, implying a launch could occur before the end of this year or in early 2026. This timeline is consistent with recent coverage, with Bloomberg also reporting that Apple is “nearing” mass production of the M5 MacBook Pro, according to 9to5Mac.

Regarding the M5 chips, 9to5Mac reports that industry sources indicate the M5, compared with last year’s M4, delivers CPU gains of about 10–12% in single-core and 15% in multi-core, while GPU performance reportedly rises by up to 35%. The report, citing Apple VP of Platform Architecture Tim Millet, adds that the GPU may enable neural processing to extend into applications traditionally seen as graphics-heavy, such as gaming.

Vision Pro Refresh with M5 Chip Reportedly Coming by Year-End

Apart from M5 MacBook Pro models and iPad Pro, according to MacRumors, FCC documents have also revealed that Apple is working on an updated version of the Vision Pro headset.

As MacRumors highlights, one of the FCC documents reportedly references an Apple-designed “Head Mounted Device” with the model number A3416. An accompanying image suggests the device is a Vision Pro. As the report notes, the FCC filings include transmission tests, SAR test reports, and WLAN test reports.

Industry sources indicate that Apple is developing a refreshed Vision Pro equipped with a faster M5 chip, though the headset is not expected to receive major design changes. The updated model could reportedly debut before the end of the year, according to MacRumors. Meanwhile, MacRumors notes that a slimmed-down “Vision Air” is also reportedly in development, though it is not expected to arrive until 2027.
