[News] China’s Iluvatar CoreX Reportedly to Unveil 2026–28 GPU Roadmap, Targeting NVIDIA H200, B200

As China accelerates its push for domestic chips, Iluvatar CoreX has emerged as a new focus of industry attention following its recent listing in Hong Kong. According to ijiwei, the company disclosed that it will unveil the road map for its next three product generations on January 26, covering areas such as innovative GPGPU architecture design, high-quality computing infrastructure, and cloud-based AI training and inference products.

Sources cited in the report say the products outlined in the road map, slated for release between 2026 and 2028, are expected to compete head to head with NVIDIA’s H200 and B200.

Notably, as ijiwei indicates, Iluvatar CoreX is China’s first leading company to achieve mass production of a general-purpose GPU platform supporting both AI training and inference.

Can Iluvatar CoreX Bridge the Gap With Global GPU Leaders?

As noted by Mydrivers, Iluvatar CoreX’s general-purpose GPU lineup mainly consists of the TianGai and Zhikai series. Within the TianGai line, the TianGai-100 delivers a TPP performance density of 2,352, while the TianGai-150 reaches 3,040, still trailing NVIDIA’s A100 by a wide margin. That said, these products were launched several years ago, and Iluvatar CoreX is expected to deliver a substantial performance uplift with its next-generation GPUs.

Mydrivers adds that benchmarking against NVIDIA’s H200 would require a TPP performance density of about 15,832, while matching the B200 would call for roughly 36,000. This implies Iluvatar CoreX would need to lift compute performance by around five to twelve times from current levels. The report notes such gains are theoretically achievable through advances in architecture, process technology, and multi-chip packaging.

However, the report also points out that manufacturing remains a key constraint for China’s domestic GPUs. Iluvatar CoreX was regarded as the first local player to introduce a 7nm GPU in China. Achieving a tenfold performance boost would likely require a move to more advanced manufacturing processes, which could be subject to restrictions.

Fast Growth, But No Clear Market Leader Yet

Iluvatar CoreX’s business expansion has continued to accelerate. As ijiwei highlights, the company’s customer base surged from 22 to 181 between 2022 and 2024, representing nearly an eightfold increase over three years. As the report notes, as of June 30, 2025, Iluvatar CoreX had delivered more than 52,000 general-purpose GPU chips to over 290 customers.

However, according to Yicai, Iluvatar CoreX and other Chinese GPU makers have yet to meaningfully differentiate themselves in terms of market share. In 2024, Iluvatar CoreX accounted for about 0.3% of China’s domestic general-purpose GPU market. MetaX held roughly 1% of China’s AI accelerator market, while Moore Threads had less than 1% market share across AI computing, graphics acceleration, and intelligent SoC segments in China.
