On October 21, 2025, Axelera® AI (Eindhoven, the Netherlands) announced the launch of its latest AI Processing Unit (AIPU), Europa, marking a new milestone in performance and cost efficiency for multi-user generative AI and computer vision applications.
Engineered to deliver exceptional compute power with optimized energy and thermal efficiency, Europa combines compact packaging with multiple form-factor options—making it an ideal solution for compute-intensive, multimodal AI inference workloads ranging from edge devices to enterprise servers.
The Europa AIPU delivers 214 TOPS of peak performance at just 45 watts of power consumption, designed for high-efficiency computing environments. Equipped with 64GB of memory and 128MB of on-chip L2 SRAM, the chip provides 25GB/s (200Gbps) of bandwidth, ensuring high throughput and low latency. This architecture achieves 3–5× better performance efficiency compared to competing products, positioning Europa as a top choice for next-generation generative AI deployments.
“Organizations shouldn’t have to choose between computational capability and accessibility,” said Fabrizio del Maffeo, CEO of Axelera AI. “Europa brings enterprise-grade AI performance within reach for virtually everyone.”
Axelera will also offer Europa AIPU in PCIe card configurations, supporting a variety of deployment models to meet diverse workload demands. Shipments of Europa AIPU and PCIe cards are expected to begin in the first half of 2026.
