TrendForce: Don’t Miss Out on Major Chinese LED Players at LEDforum Taipei

Major Chinese and Taiwanese LED manufacturers will be sharing industrial insights at the sixth “LEDforum Taipei 2013” to take place at the Evergreen International Convention Center in Taipei, Taiwan on Oct. 16-17, 2013. Organizers of the event, TrendForce and its subsidiary 21LED Online have invited China’s leading LED chip manufacturer San’an Optoelectronics Vice President Simon Lin, Laurence Lin, Marketing and Sales General Manager of large Chinese LED packager MLS Co., and many others to share their observations on the LED industry, and carry out technology interchange at the forum. In addition, important speakers at the event will include Epistar Chairman B.J. Lee, and many high ranking managers from major U.S. and European manufacturers. TrendForce:Global LED Bulb ASP Up in August

Global 40W equiv. LED bulb Average Selling Price (ASP) increased slightly by 1.7% in August 2013 to US$ 15.7, according to a recent bulb retail survey conducted by LEDinside, a research subsidiary of TrendForce. Global introduction of new products for August was low. Global 60W equiv. LED bulbs ASP dropped slightly by 2.9% to US$ 21.9. Price drops were most obvious in U.K.

In 2013, the LED package market value was US$ 12.5 billion and is expected to reach US$ 13.39 billion (Year-on-Year +7%) in 2014, according to a LEDinside gold report. Tablets and smartphones are still highlights of the LED market in 2014. The two applications have shown stable growth as it benefited from increased resolution and market demands.

Affects from the termination of China’s Home Appliance Subsidiary Programs in 1H13 caused LED backlight market demands to ease in June and July this year, according to LEDinside, a green energy research subsidiary of global research institute TrendForce.
