The server market is experiencing robust growth, exceeding prior forecasts, fueled by surging AI-driven demand from North American and Chinese CSPs. This has led to increased server orders, particularly for AI servers and high-capacity DRAM modules. Geopolitical factors are also influencing procurement strategies. TrendForce projects a stabilization of server DRAM (DDR5) prices in Q2 2025, with potential price increases in Q3, driven by strong demand and limited supply, partly due to HBM production. Suppliers like SK hynix, Samsung, and Micron are adjusting production and pricing strategies accordingly. The overall outlook is positive, with server DRAM leading a potential broader DRAM market recovery. Key factors to watch include consumer demand recovery and HBM market dynamics.

In late February 2025, Figure AI released Helix, a general-purpose (“generalist”) VLA (Vision Language Action) model designed for humanoid robots. This model allows robots to perform actions based on visual identification of objects and environments along with received verbal commands. Helix boasts several innovations, including being the first VLA model to enable rapid and continuous control of a humanoid robot’s upper body, encompassing not only the wrists and fingers but also the torso and head. Furthermore, Helix facilitates cooperative systems among multiple robots. Figure AI’s demonstration video shows two robots working together to organize daily purchased items by picking and passing objects to each other. Helix learns all behaviors through a single neural network, eliminating the need for task-specific fine-tuning. It can grasp most household objects with just verbal commands and is designed to be embedded in low-power GPUs, granting it considerable deployment flexibility and making it already commercially viable to some extent.

TrendForce indicates that CSPs continue to actively invest in in-house AI ASICs, and the emergence of DeepSeek will further catalyze this trend. Although NVIDIA GPUs remain the mainstream for AI servers, both North American and Chinese CSPs are accelerating in-house ASIC development to improve performance, reduce costs, and lessen reliance on external suppliers. ASIC AI servers are projected to reach a 29% market share by 2028, with a market value of US$41 billion.

On January 30, 2025, during Tesla’s Q4 2024 earnings call, the company revealed that its humanoid robot production line is expected to reach a monthly output of 10,000 units by 2026, with deliveries set to begin that same year. Initially, the first production line will have a capacity of 1,000 units per month, which will then be scaled up to 10,000 units per month. Tesla anticipates releasing the next-generation version of Optimus in H1 2026, with market sales commencing in H2 2026. Despite the high price, Elon Musk remains confident in strong demand. Once mass production reaches 1 million units annually, Tesla expects the production cost of Optimus to fall below $20,000 per unit, though the final price will depend on market feedback. On February 6, Tesla posted several job openings for the robot project at their Fremont, California facility. According to Tesla’s official website, at least 12 roles are currently available, including positions for manufacturing engineers, production managers, and process supervisors. TrendForce notes that this move aligns with Tesla’s goal of mass-producing robots by 2025, signaling the company is accelerating its humanoid robot production plans.
