[Insights] Early November Panel Prices: TV, Monitor and Notebook Prices Seen Flat; 4Q NB Demand to Drop Over 20%

.TV

TV panel demand remains weak heading into November, with purchases by major TV brands expected to decline by around 5% QoQ in the fourth quarter. Although panel makers adjusted production capacity in October, the cuts were limited, leaving prices largely flat with little room for increases in the near term. Panel makers are still seeking to build momentum for TV panel price hikes. However, with demand weakening, more substantial production cuts would be needed to tighten supply and support an earlier price recovery. As manufacturers are unlikely to make significant capacity adjustments for now, TV panel prices are expected to remain flat across all sizes in November.

.MNT

Monitor (MNT) panel demand remains weak in November, with fourth-quarter shipments expected to decline by 9% QoQ. Despite softer demand, panel makers are pushing for price increases to offset rising costs. Most brand customers are willing to accept stable prices given manufacturers’ cost pressures, but remain cautious about price hikes, leaving further negotiations likely. TV panel pricing remains the key factor. A confirmed rise in TV panel prices would give monitor panel makers greater leverage to seek increases from brand customers. However, given current market conditions, MNT panel prices are expected to remain flat across all sizes in November.

.NB

Notebook (NB) panel demand from major brands is expected to plunge by more than 20% in the fourth quarter, putting significant pressure on panel makers’ shipments. At the same time, rising component costs are squeezing manufacturers, leaving them in a difficult position. Price cuts are unlikely to stimulate demand, while increases could strain customer relationships and even jeopardize next year’s order allocations. As a result, stable pricing appears to be the most acceptable compromise for both suppliers and customers. With panel makers increasingly focused on next year’s shipment targets and securing customer orders, NB panel prices are expected to remain flat across all sizes in November.
