[Insights] Memory Spot Price Update: NAND Price Cuts Accelerate Amid China Phone Discounts; 512Gb TLC Sink 9.19%

2026-10-28 Semiconductors editor

According to TrendForce’s latest memory spot price trend report, DRAM saw limited trading in branded DDR4 and DDR5 chips on demand from specific orders, lifting select chip prices slightly despite weak overall momentum. In NAND Flash, Chinese smartphone brands slashed prices during Double 11 promotions to revive sluggish demand, prompting more aggressive selling in the spot market. As a result, 512Gb TLC wafer prices fell 9.19% this week. Details are as follows:

DRAM Spot Price:

In the spot market this week, branded DDR4 and DDR5 chips have seen limited transactions driven by demand from specific orders, thus nudging prices slightly higher for certain chips. However, as a typhoon impacted certain regions and overall demand has stayed weak, the upward price-chasing momentum has failed to carry through, and transaction volumes have not increased noticeably. The average spot price of mainstream chips (i.e., DDR4 1Gx8 3200MT/s) has increased by 0.55% from US$46.79 last week (October 21) to US$47.04 this week (October 27).

NAND Flash Spot Price:

Some of the Chinese smartphone brands faced a sudden halt in market demand, upon raising their prices in September. To accelerate inventory clearance, smartphone brands collectively lowered prices during the Double 11 promotions to stimulate consumption. The spot market was quickly impacted by this reversal in sentiment, prompting sellers to adopt a more aggressive selling stance and intensify price reductions. Spot prices of 512Gb TLC wafers dropped by 9.19% this week (October 26), with average quotations arriving at US$16.883.
