Driven by government policy, China’s humanoid robot industry is moving toward standardization and use-case segmentation, focusing on three major technological pillars: embodied AI, motion control, and core hardware. The industry is expected to leverage the existing new energy vehicle (NEV) supply chain to achieve domestic substitution within the motion and power layers of the humanoid robot architecture. However, the technical barriers to component miniaturization in humanoid robots remain significantly higher than those for automotive-grade components. As humanoid robot applications transition into practical, real-world scenarios, component durability and long-term reliability will become critical prerequisites for large-scale deployment.
Key Highlights
- Policy-driven, China's humanoid robot industry is moving toward standardization and use-case segmentation.
- The industry centers on three pillars: embodied AI, motion control, and core hardware.
- It aims to leverage the existing NEV supply chain for domestic substitution in motion and power layers.
- Component miniaturization barriers remain far higher than for automotive-grade parts.
- As applications move toward real-world use, durability and long-term reliability become key prerequisites for scale-up.
