Laser & Photonics Taiwan 2026 took place from August 19th to 22nd at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, focusing on advanced manufacturing, smart automation, and next-generation optoelectronic technologies. As laser applications expand into EVs, semiconductors, biomedicine, and other fields, the show will bring together technologies spanning the entire industry value chain.

Meanwhile, genAI is evolving beyond LLMs toward multimodal and physical AI, pushing the underlying computing infrastructure close to its physical limits. Within data centers, conventional copper interconnects and electronic signaling increasingly face challenges from the “power wall,” signal attenuation, and bandwidth bottlenecks.

Optical and laser manufacturing technologies are becoming increasingly integrated with advanced semiconductor packaging, photonic integrated circuits (PICs), and high-speed data communications to overcome these constraints. This convergence is ushering in a new era of photonics-driven computing.

Key Highlights

  • Laser & Photonics Taiwan focused on advanced manufacturing, smart automation, and optoelectronic technologies across the entire industry value chain.
  • Generative AI is expanding from large language models to multimodal and physical AI. As a result, copper interconnects in data centers are running into limits on power consumption, signal attenuation, and bandwidth.
  • Optical and laser technologies are converging with advanced packaging and photonic integrated circuits (PICs), ushering in an era of photonics-driven computing.
