According to TrendForce’s latest report, global smartphone demand has weakened even more than originally predicted due to the escalating global politico-economic risks, with global production volume feared to widen in decline from a previously forecast worst case scenario of 5% to 7%, landing at 1.4 billion units.
According to TrendForce 's latest report, the release of Bluetooth 5.0, which solved the problems of transmission and power consumption inherent in TWSs, along with the release of Apple's AirPods, gave rise to a speedily growing market. One by one, Samsung, Sony, Huawei, Xiaomi and other smartphone brands are also releasing TWS headsets in 2019, projected to bring TWS earbud shipments up to 78 million sets, registering a YoY growth of 52.9%.
According to investigations by global market research institute, TrendForce, despite the sudden orders in the first quarter, recovery was not as up to strength compared with the same period a year ago, due to customers' declining desire to replace smartphones. The global smartphone production volume for 1Q19 totaled 311 million units, showing a YoY decrease of 9%. The outlook for 2Q19 indicates that smartphone demand will stabilize, and the traditional busy season for stock-up activities will arrive in the latter half of the second quarter. Thus the global smartphone production volume in 2Q19 is forecasted to register no significant YoY change over 2018, holding steady at the level of 350 million units. TrendForce further forecasts that the global production volume in 2019 will contract by 3.7% from 2018 to around 1.4 billion units.
According to the newly published 2019 Deep UV LED Application Market- Sterilization, Purification and Water Treatment Markets report by LEDinside, a division of TrendForce, UV LED manufacturers did not see an explosive growth in revenue as expected for 2018 due to the global recession, yet it did see a steady increase. UV-LED revenues are expected to ride UV-C LED market demand and arrive at US$991 million, registering a CAGR of 29% between 2017 and 2023.
Global research institute TrendForce asserts in its latest Global Automotive Market Decode for 1Q report that the global automotive market scale is predicted to reach 94.4 million in shipments 2019, a 0.8% decrease compared to 2018. Despite this drop in market scale, car manufacturers are hoping to spur market development by turning to the electric vehicle market. Electric vehicle shipments are predicted to arrive at 5.15 million in 2019, reaching a YoY growth of 28%. YoY growth of new energy vehicles alone ( excluding hybrid electric vehicles) is expected to hit 51%.
